Ffynhonnau sanctaidd Cymru

Holy wells of Wales

The pictures in the exhibition show just a few of the many Holy Wells in Wales. The paints used have been mixed with water taken from, or collected in the vicinity of, each well depicted. Other media employed include charcoal, ink and collage, using fragments of pages taken from a Welsh Bible. Some of the pictures are representational while others are more abstract and try to capture the atmosphere of the place.

Dengys y lluniau yn yr arddangosfa ychydig o’r nifer o Ffynhonnau Sanctaidd sydd yng Nghymru. Mae’r paent a ddefnyddiwyd wedi eu cymysgu â dŵr a gymerwyd o, neu a gasglwyd o’r cyffiniau, pob un wedi’u ddarlunio’n dda. Mae cyfryngau eraill a ddefnyddiwyd yn cynnwys siarcol, inc a gludwaith, gan ddefnyddio darnau o dudalennau a gymerwyd o’r Beibl Gymraeg. Ceir rhai lluniau cynrychioliadol tra bod eraill yn fwy haniaethol ac yn ceisio dal naws y lle.
