St Padarn
2017 marked the 1500th anniversary of the arrival of St Padarn in Wales. He was to become one of the three first bishops in the country and founded a monastery just outside modern-day Aberystwyth. After his death many legends grew up around St Padarn and his life. I took some of the most colourful stories and etched pictures to illustrate them on slate which I sourced from a quarry in North Wales. The slates are now on permanent display at Llanbadarn Church, nr Aberystwyth, Ceredigion.
