In November 2011 I created an installation to go under the famous dome of St Paul’s Cathedral. It was made from 1000s of poppies and was designed to draw attention to the many children who over the years have been forced to train as soldiers to fight adult’s wars. The title of the work was ‘Innocence Betrayed’.

At ground level it looked like poppies strewn across a large white disc, from the Whispering Gallery above, the poppies formed an image of 3 children from wars of the previous 100 years. I made it in a huge attack space loaned to me above the brewery in Unst, Shetland, before taking it south in sections.
